1) Room Setup and Team Balance
Troccas Online requires four players in fixed 2v2 teams. The round starts only when the waiting room is balanced. If teams are unbalanced, ask players to switch sides before pressing start.
2) Understand the Deal Sequence
The dealer executes a strict multi-pass deal flow. First and second passes each distribute six cards per player. In the final pass, the dealer receives nine cards while others receive seven.
After the final reveal, the game moves to Scart. This is a mandatory checkpoint before trick play begins.
3) Scart: Dealer Must Discard Exactly Two Cards
Only the dealer can perform Scart. Selecting fewer or more than two cards is invalid. A common beginner error is trying to proceed with one discard selected, which is rejected by the game.
4) Trick Play Basics
- Turns are strict. Out-of-turn actions are rejected.
- If a lead suit exists and you hold that suit, you must follow suit.
- If you cannot follow suit and you hold trumps, you must play a trump.
- Fool (Narr) has special handling and interacts with debt rules outside the final trick.
5) Scoring and Next Round
At round end, captured cards are scored and Scart is added to the dealer team before final calculation. Match totals carry into Regame and the dealer rotates for the next round.
Common Beginner Mistakes to Avoid
- Starting the game before teams are balanced 2v2.
- Forgetting that only the dealer can complete Scart.
- Missing mandatory trump play when unable to follow suit.
- Treating BUOB as always available. It has strict trigger conditions.
